I had heard something about that, but not seen it. It brought tears to my eyes. It's affirming to me, a 44 year old student in a class of mostly 20-somethings, that it's never to late to try something new and follow a dream... LOVED how everybody was shocked, and admitted to their ill initial impressions, yet were still open to being amazed by her! Thanks for posting!

Have you ever witnessed anything more inspiring? I just watched this for the second time and cried AGAIN. I wish I could put my finger on the magic. It's not just her singing voice, it's her sincerity and her ability to connect with the audience. Wow. That's going in my Inspiring YouTube File, along with J.K. Rowling's Harvard graduation address.

Oh yeah! This had me a weepy mess. What a wonderful story! (Though it makes me sort of sick that they keep referring to her as a "spinster." Unless she actually spins wool into thread for a living, it's wicked offensive.)

Did you hear she's made it through her heat of the semi-finals? Highest number of votes on the night. Go Susan!
